Unlike professional networking sites, Ishido’s is much more geared towards making social contacts and making "friends" or chatting. That doesn't mean you can't be professional here-- just please help keep this site a valuable resource for people wanting a “getaway” and not let it degrade into less. This is not a dating site. Unsolicited inappropriate messages (of a sexual nature or otherwise) to other members will not be tolerated. If you are the unwilling recipient of such contact, please contact a moderator for assistance. Offenders may have their profiles suspended and/or be banned from the site entirely.
YOUR PROFILE
Your profile is what people will look at to get a sense of who you are and what you do, or what you may be capable of. Please make sure your "About Me" (Bio & Credits) section has been completely filled out with things such as what you hope to get out of this site, and what you're looking to do in here. Without such basic information, you're likely to be contacted by many people you may not want to associate with. Help keep unwanted contact to a minimum by answering these common questions preemptively within your profile text.
You should have at least 4 different, separate photos uploaded. Photo quality is not important as long as the images show what the end products are.
The 18+ tag is generally for use with photos that are not family friendly and/or work safe. Please do not mark G-rated photos as 18+ just because the person in them is over 18 years of age. If you accidentally do so, you can fix it in the "Manage photos" section. HOWEVER-- If one of your photos has been tagged 18+ by a moderator, please do NOT untag it. Playing tug of war with moderators this way could result in profile suspension.
THE FORUMS
The forums here are very active, and are a good source of advice, inspiration, and general information. Below is a list of forums and what you will find in each one. Warning: cross-posting is highly frowned upon. Find the best forum for your post instead of spamming multiple forums with the same message. Offenders may be warned or have their profiles suspended. (People really, really don't like it.)
Please note that "Vote for me!" threads are considered spam in ANY forum. You may post them without links in the Announcement area, or in your own profile.
Newbie Forum: This forum. Where to introduce yourself to the site at large. Please do not post chat threads, rant threads, or requests for comments on your profiles here. (There are specific forums for those.)

Off-Topic Discussion: Non-serious discussion. However, that doesn't mean anything goes-- please try to behave like an adult (or not) and treat your fellow members with respect regardless of topic. Here you can do the chat thread thingy. All day long
Art: Post topics about art related subjects. Please do not post chat threads, rant threads, or requests for comments on your profiles here.
Critique: Where to post if you'd like advice or comments on your profiles or anything else you do. Warning: you may not always like what you hear. Only ask for a critique if you really want honest feedback.
Hollywood: Hollywood-specific discussion. Talk about your favorite movies, Actors, Actresses, The Oscars, and who’s dating who and who’s screwing up, etc. Please do not post chat threads, rant threads, or requests for comments on your profiles here.
